Join Our LAUSD Climate Champions Campaign

Los Angeles Public SCHOOLS ARE mandated to have climate education. 

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) passed a Climate Literacy Resolution in February 2022. The resolution commits LAUSD to “transforming our teaching of climate change to meet the scale and urgency of the crises by implementing, infusing, and developing climate change education across all curricula, and in every grade PK-12.”

The resolution ESTABLISHES Climate Champion positions at all schools, BUT MOST SCHOOLS DON’T HAVE ONE YET.

Climate Champions are certificated employees who help other teachers incorporate climate/climate justice issues into their lessons, and get students outdoors and into nature.
