Growing Food for a Community

  • The Degnan Microfarm 3753 Degnan Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90018 United States (map)

Outside of learning to read and write, learning how to grow your own food is the next most powerful and liberating thing you can learn.

Living in a big city surrounded by so many businesses it's easy to forget that almost all of the food that we consume is shipped in. What happens when there's problems with the supply chain? Or if your neighborhood grocery store closes? Add that to the fact that the longer produce is in transport, the more nutrients it loses.

Join us for a hands on workshop focused on community food systems, urban agriculture, and growing food collectively. Led in collaboration with The Plant Plug™, this workshop will explore the connections between plant science, food access, geography, and economics while learning practical growing skills that can be applied in your own community.
