Monarch Restoration Event at Topanga State Park

  • Lower Topanga State Park 3931 South Topanga Canyon Boulevard Malibu, CA, 90265 United States (map)

Help restore a local overwintering site for the benefit of a newly established population of Monarch butterflies in lower Topanga State Park.

The goal of this unique opportunity is to restore monarch overwintering habitat in lower Topanga State Park, within the Palisades Fire burn scar. Our team will be directing volunteers on the removal of invasive species, the planting of new natives to take their place and the building of protective cages to ensure these plants can thrive. We will be directing volunteers off-trail, over uneven ground with the goal of maintaining the integrity and health of the existing ecosystem, so we ask volunteers take special care during this event.
