Making Space

 Thursday, March 19 | 7–9 PM
Jai Tea Loft + Thai Angel, Koreatown, Los Angeles

What does it mean to Make Space in our cities, our communities, and ourselves?

UELA Presents: Making Space,
a lightly curated lightning talk and discussion series bringing together thinkers, doers, and dreamers at the intersection of urbanism and environmentalism.

The evening unfolds in two complementary settings and invites guests to explore new ways to think about our built environment:

Downstairs at Thai Angel - $5 suggested donation
Short, 3–5 minute lightning talks (a short storytelling format) interpreting the theme “Making Space” — from infill development’s role in conservation, to climate justice, water infrastructure, circular economy, mobility, and more — followed by open mic and social time.

Upstairs at Jai Tea Loft - $10 presale, $15 at the door. limited capacity.
An intimate, guided discussion with tea and snacks included, focused on the current state of housing in Los Angeles — its successes, its challenges, and the intersectional movements needed to create community-centered, transit-oriented, nature-positive density.

This is designed to be both reflective and energizing: part salon, part community gathering.
