Public Workshop for the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project

Public Workshop for the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project

At our Chapter meeting in May, we has a discussion with RJ Van Sant of California State Parks to talk about the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project and the Rindge Dam removal that is part of it. If you would like to learn more, this workshop is a great opportunity. (Note also that we are having a hike / tour of the project on November 14 as well).

California State Parks invites the public to a workshop on the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project on Thursday, October 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District Conference Room, 4232 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, CA 91302. Learn about the design and engineering updates related to the removal of Rindge Dam, project benefits that include restoring natural ecosystem functions, expanding critical habitat for endangered Southern California steelhead trout and other native species, and enhancing coastal resilience through beach nourishment. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and engage directly with the project team. For more information about the project, visit www.restoremalibucreek.org or email restoremalibucreek@parks.ca.gov.
