In January 2025, wildfires brought enormous devastation to the Los Angeles basin, notably Palisades and Altadena. The fires destroyed some 18000 homes and structures, killed some 31 to 440 people, forced 200,000 to evacuate, and burned over 57000 acres or 23000 hectares. Pacific Palisades was close to wiped out. Now a bit over a year later, under Climate Talks for Everyone, high school students from Palisades High School and Santa Monica High School together with members of the community will gather at ground zero where parts of their high school once stood to recall those moments. A few of those students will together with a moderator of the FFF Newsletter share their feelings. This event will be transmitted across the country via zoom and livestreamed via facebook and YouTube.
