The Legislative Committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month.
This session, our committee is focused on five key pillars:
Clean Energy & Decarbonization: Championing bills like SB 222 and SB 868 to streamline heat pump permitting and expand "plug-and-play" balcony solar access for renters and multifamily residents.
Water Security: Strengthening regional resilience through AB 2026, which accelerates groundwater recharge during wet seasons.
Environmental Justice: Pushing for enforceable limits on nitrogen pollution (AB 2447) and establishing health-based standards for toxic hydrogen sulfide (SB 58) to protect our frontline communities.
Accountability: Demanding transparency from large energy users via AB 1577, requiring data centers to report monthly energy and water consumption.
Biodiversity: Advocating for the California Grizzly Restoration Act (SB 1305) and protecting critical monarch butterfly habitats (AB 2254).
Our strength lies in grassroots advocacy and over the course of the summer, we intend to make "clear asks" of our state representatives to champion these solutions.
