Plug-In Solar Panels: Clean Energy in Everyone's Hands

Tuesday, January 13th, 7:00pm Register here

Plug-in panels, or "balcony solar," are solar panels that connect directly to a standard home outlet. Where available, they can be purchased directly by a renter or home owner and typically require no installation or contract with the utility. The panels can be placed on the ground, on a balcony, on a deck or fence--wherever the sun shines! Just plug them in and start to reduce the electricity you draw from the grid.

Balcony solar is already used throughout Europe. Bright Saver, a nonprofit organization based in Northern California, is working to bring this movement to the US. Bright Saver’s Cora Stryker (Co-Founder) and Raj Jambotkar (Product Leader) will join the SFV Climate Reality meeting to share how plug-in solar is changing the energy landscape, answer questions about how the systems work, and talk about the policy changes needed to make plug-in solar accessible in California.
