Please register today for our August chapter Zoom call, featuring a conversation with Michael Schneider, Founder of Streets For All.
A lifelong Angeleno, Michael founded Streets For All in 2019 to make LA’s streets safe for all modes of transportation. Having traded his car for a bicycle a decade ago, Michael became curious about why LA— with the world’s best weather — has some of the world’s worst bike infrastructure.
Michael led Healthy Streets LA, which became a ballot measure on the March 2024 ballot in the City of Los Angeles. Voters approved Measure HLA by an overwhelming majority, making safer streets in Los Angeles mandatory. Other Streets For All transformative Projects include Venice Blvd For All (dedicated bus and bike lanes), Destruction for Nada (stopping freeway widening), and Marina Central Park (housing and park instead of a freeway). The organization is also active in Sacramento, where its helped make or change laws to further the cause
