For our July Zoom call, we will be joined by fire-resistant landscaping expert and author Greg Rubin. In conversation with LA Climate Reality, Rubin will discuss the connections between climate and urban landscaping, and how proper landscaping can reduce the spread of urban wildfires.

Greg Rubin was named the 2018 Horticulturist of the Year by the San Diego Horticultural Society. He is the president & founder of California’s Own Native Landscape Design, Inc., and is a licensed design/build contractor who has designed over 800 residential, commercial, and institutional native landscapes in Southern California.

Greg conducted a 4-year research project for the US Navy on fire-resistant native landscaping. He has participated in multiple advisory committees, and authored (with Lucy Warren) two bestselling books on native landscaping.
