The SoCal Clean Manufacturing Coalition is hosting a rally at the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Board Meeting on Friday, December 5th to demand regulators pass rules to clean up the pollution from hundreds of factories and industrial-sized buildings and campuses, hospitals, and universities that are making our communities sick and causing premature deaths.
To make an impact with the board and remind them that to protecting health by regulating air pollution is their main responsibility, the organizers are inviting supporters across the climate and environmental justice movement to rally outside SCAQMD’s office in Diamond Bar before the Board’s December meeting. RSVP HERE.
It’s been a rough year at SCAQMD with the Board failing to pass critical rules to reduce the pollution that our communities deal with every day that’s making it hard to breathe and sending people to the hospital. The industrial heating rules are an opportunity to rebuild broken trust, live up to their commitments, and usher in a new year with new, stronger rules for clean air.
Expect a rally with speakers from environmental justice, climate, and public health organizations, and a holiday theme with actions to match.
When: December 5th at 8am. Coffee and breakfast will be available!
Where: SCAQMD Offices, 21865 Copley Dr, Diamond Bar, CA 91765
