This painting and storytelling workshop celebrates composting. Whether you’ve been dropping off food scraps at a farmers market, volunteering at a compost hub, composting at home, or are just beginning your compost journey, this workshop is for you! Together, the group will use painting and writing to express and reflect on what composting means to us and how it connects our entire city.
This workshop will result in art pieces that will become part of a digital portrait exhibition: “Earth Tones: People and stories of LA Compost.” This exhibition will highlight the shared practice of composting, while uplifting the individual stories that make our community diverse, beautiful and strong!
The session will be guided by Adriana Barrera, an Angeleno artist and illustrator, who will lead the group through an immersive creative process rooted in connection to nature and community.
