The Environmental Services Bureau, in partnership with Algalita Marine Research and Education, Pedal Movement, the LB Reuses coalition, and Long Beach Time Exchange is excited to host Long Beach Fixit Clinics at no cost to City residents. These events offer residents a chance to repair their broken household items with the help from skilled volunteer fixers – we refer to them as Fixit coaches! This reduces waste and supports sustainability!
By bringing items to a Long Beach Fixit Clinic, attendees can gain valuable skills and access to tools that may be needed for repair. The Long Beach Fixit Clinics are open to all ages, and residents will have the opportunity to learn alongside one another, promoting multigenerational knowledge sharing and better consumer habits. Even if a repair doesn’t succeed, residents leave with useful knowledge on troubleshooting and can gain confidence in potentially fixing items in the future.
