End Dependence Day Demonstration (Last Chance Alliance)

  • Alamitos Beach 380 East Shoreline Drive Long Beach, CA, 90802 United States (map)

This year, in the run-up to July 4th, Californians are taking action across the state to finally End Dependence on Fossil Fuels.

Join us on July 2nd in Long Beach, traditional homelands of the Acjachemen and Tongva Peoples.

Big Oil has continued to wreck our health and climate while raking in billions in profits. Enough!

We're growing our movement and mobilizing hundreds of Californians to urge Governor Newsom to stop approving new fossil fuel projects and end neighborhood oil drilling once and for all.

With intense wildfire smoke blanketing much of Canada and the Northeast, that's the type of bold climate leadership we so urgently need.

RSVP here!

Where: Alamitos Beach

When: Starting at 9AM on July 2

Bring: Sunscreen, a hat, water, signs

What: Rally for Climate Justice. Join hundreds of Californians for our End Dependence Day of action calling on Governor Newsom to end new fossil fuel permits and stop oil drilling in neighborhoods. Long Beach residents will gather at Alamitos Beach in front of Island Grissom, an offshore drilling island where 15 new oil wells were recently approved to call on Governor Newsom and the City of Long Beach stop issuing permits for oil drilling. There will be a banner deployed at sea by kayaktivists and a mock oil spill on the beach.
Bring your friends and family!

Park at the Alamitos Beach Lot (paid parking, map to 380 E Shoreline Drive, Long Beach, CA 90802) and walk directly to the sand where you will see organizers, or find free parking above on Ocean Blvd and access the beach via 2nd, 3rd, or 5th Street beach access.

Our movement is growing, but we'll only be strong enough to win when you're with us. Join us to End Dependence of Fossil Fuels for good!
