Webinar: LA County Oil Well Rule

Join STAND-LA, the Sierra Club, Center for Biological Diversity, NRDC, and Food and Water Action for a webinar to learn about LA County's proposed Oil Well Rule and what you can do to promote environmental justice.

LA County’s Department of Regional Planning is in the process of updating their Title 22 Oil Well Ordinance for the first time in almost 40 years. On April 13, 2020, they published their initial draft and are accepting their first round of public comments on this draft until September 23.

This rule oversees oil drilling in most unincorporated parts of LA County. This initial draft recommends only 500-ft setbacks for new oil wells. Join us to learn why we are calling for 2500-ft setbacks for new and existing wells.

DRP will hold virtual meetings to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on the draft ordinance. Tune in to our webinar to learn everything you need to know about this rule before the public meetings.
