Breaking news: Outraged by a plan to bulldoze Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve, a fast growing movement comprised of political environmental climate and animal welfare orgs are mounting a campaign to stop the bulldozing of 640 acres, home to thousands of species, some threatened and endangered, LA’s last coastal wetlands. West Los Angeles Democratic Club recently joined in solidarity along with 60 other groups opposing the phony restoration listed on the website.

This grasslands, wetlands, and willow woodlands habitat was originally preserved to provide safe haven for native wild animals, including endangered and imperiled species such as Belding’s Savannah sparrows, burrowing owls, and California legless lizards who would be killed outright, chased away, or caged during this during this 9-year construction project.
Several animal and environmental advocacy organizations are banding together to oppose the massive bulldozing, excavation, and construction of a phony "restoration" project that would move over 2 million cubic yards of life-filled soils. Green Dream Campaign, In Defense of Animals, and Climate Reality Project’s Los Angeles Chapter co-host this online Town Hall featuring key speakers.
