At our July Chapter Call, we will be joined by Tina Orduno Calderon, a Culture Bearer and land & water protector of Gabrielino Tongva, Chumash, Yoeme and Chicana descent.

Calderon is a singer / Song Keeper, poet and storyteller and has composed over two dozen songs in her ancestral languages of Tongvé and Chumash. She strongly believes in honoring her ancestors by sharing their history and educating others about Indigenous truths.

Calderon is a frequent public speaker, working closely with many environmental organizations and schools to give voice to the lands, waters and sacred elements and to encourage others to be good relatives.

Tina Calderon is a recognized sustainability leader with a focus on food recovery and complex waste diversion strategies.

In a conversation with Chapter Chair Charles Miller, Calderon will discuss her career journey and path to bridging music and poetry with environmental and educational work.
