Aaron Kreisberg, Plant Conservation Manager with the Catalina Island Conservancy, joined our June chapter call to discuss the work he and his team are doing to maintain the delicate ecosystem balance that comes with an island.

In his conversation with Chapter Chair Charles Miller, Orange County native Kreisberg tells us about his path to the Catalina Island Conservancy, its origins, and what makes it such a unique and worthwhile opportunity.

Aaron Kreisberg is Plant Conservation Manager for Catalina Island Conservancy, a non-profit organization that protects 88 percent of Catalina Island’s approximately 48,000 acres.

He also talks about how being on an island presents a chance to get ahead of invasive species, both animal and plant, and also a significant risk to biodiversity if not handled in time.
