Marissa Roy, a Deputy Attorney General for California and candidate for LA City Attorney, joined our June chapter meeting to discuss climate advocacy and resistance in the face of a federal government that is rolling back civil rights and undermining democracy while undoing decades of climate work.

Ms. Roy has represented LA County in a lawsuit during the first Trump Administration, to fight anti-immigrant policies and protect sanctuary cities. As an attorney in the LA City Attorney’s Office and in her current role for the state, she has fought against worker exploitation and wrongful evictions.
